Name origin: Škrle Chateau, located near the Chomutovka Stream, was originally a stronghold mentioned in records from 1621 and rebuilt as a one-storey Baroque chateau in 1730. After the 19th-century administrative reforms, it became the seat of the local municipality. Following years of decline after World War II, the chateau was restored after 1989 and its surrounding grounds are now being landscaped. It once housed municipal offices, an estate manager’s flat and guest rooms for Osek friars.
