Name origin: Vízmburkis an interesting castle ruin in the Královéhradecký kraj region, first mentioned as early as 1279. The castle belonged to prominent families and was destroyed by the Silesians in the 15th century. Following archaeological research between 1972-1984, when the castle was uncovered and nicknamed “the Bohemian Pompeii”, it is now cared for by a local association. After extensive reconstruction, the castle has been permanently opened to the public since 2021 and offers views of the bergfrit, palace wings, and unique architectural details.
