Name origin: Velke Losiny chateau While the date of origin of the fortress which preceded the castle in uncertain, since the end of the 15th century, Losiny has remained in the hands of Zierotin family for more than three centuries. In 1945, as in many other cases, the castle was confiscated to the family of Liechtenstein on the basis of the Benes Decress. From 1949 the castle was opened to public and in 19545 it was declared a national culture heritage.
